Apply a cool compress. You want something that is cool to the touch but not overly cold. Lie down on your back and cover your eyes with cool wet tea bags or cucumber slices, which contain antioxidants that reduce irritation.
Calm tired, puffy eyes with a Chamomile tea remedy. Boil chamomile flowers with purified tap water. Strain and put the tea in the refrigerator until cold. Soak cotton wool pads in the cooled tea and place over the eye area for 15 minutes while lying down to sooth the eyes.
Apply a cool spoon. To quickly reduce swelling, gently massage the under eye area with a spoon cooled in the freezer.
