L'OCCITANE Continues its Support of Japanese Craftsmen

Four years after the tsunami that rocked Fukushima, L'OCCITANE continues to give aid to the inhabitants of the Japanese archipelago. An initiative that today sees three artisans from the Tohoku region, particularly affected by the disaster, invited to discover the art of Provencal markets.

Involved since 2011 in the reconstruction of the Japan of tomorrow, L'OCCITANE continues the effort by inviting three craftspeople from the Tohoku region to visit some of the emblematic markets of Provence. In April, Ms. Rika Sugawara, Ms. Yuriko and Ms. Shimizu Miyuki Kumagai were able to exhibit their own creations on a stand at Aix-en-Provence, before strolling the markets of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Forcalquier.

After supporting the creation of a network of young entrepreneurs and helping to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the regions under reconstruction in 2014, L'OCCITANE once again brings aid to the country in the wake of Fukushima. An initiative based, this time on a genuine sharing of experiences.

The three Japanese craftspeople have thus had the opportunity, via these unifying destinations, to soak up some Provencal know-how, while sharing their own expertise via the sale of their products. A nice demonstration of mutual support which remains true to the company's values!
