Net Zero

At L’OCCITANE, we are currently transforming our business in response to the climate emergency and have developed an in depth Climate strategy to support the changes needed. More details can be found here

As part of our Climate Strategy, we have committed to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our business by 2050.

We have signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard and have near and long term emissions reduction targets aligned with Climate scientists’ aims to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C.

Our Roadmap Our Roadmap

Our Roadmap

To reach our rapid reduction targets, we are working hard on:

1. Reducing our direct-responsibility emissions – through direct control of our emissions;

2. Reducing our shared-responsibility emissions – with our partners;

3. Accelerating carbon removal and regeneration to help restore natural ecosystems and absorb emissions.

L'Occitane's Direct Responsibility

Scope 3

  • Sourcing low-carbon raw materials
  • Transforming the group’s products through eco-design
  • Reducing emissions stemming from transportation and logistics
  • Curbing emissions from the use of the group’s products

Within our direct operations we are transitioning away from fossil fuels, virgin plastic and high carbon intensity materials.

We are also evaluating the use of our products in your showers and the waste they produce to limit their impact on climate and biodiversityloss.

We also are striving to work with our partners and suppliers to reduce their impact wherever possible.

We will continue to monitor our progress through an annual evaluation of our carbon footprint.

L’OCCITANE Group know the challenges are immense and complex.

We are committed to collaborate to drive progress and do our part to leave a liveable planet for future generations.
