L'OCCITANE Supports PUR Projet

L'Occitane supports PUR

Since 1976, L’OCCITANE has been protecting the richness of our lands and we are committed to defending biodiversity for the generations to come, Respecting Biodiversity is a key commitment of L’OCCITANE’s.

Due to the success of L’OCCITANE’s campaigns with PUR Projet over the last two years, we are really pleased to announce that we will once again be partnering with them across Black Friday to promote their mission of restoring ecosystems across the globe.

1 Hand Cream Sold = £1 Invested In Tree Planting In The UK

For Black Friday, as well as offering customers 20% off full size products online and in L’OCCITANE boutiques nationwide, we will be giving £1 from the sale of every hand cream sold from 25th - 28th November to PUR Projet. With this investment, PUR Projet will plant native trees across the UK and consequently give back to nature.

OUR GOAL: To raise £20,000 through our £1 investment for every hand cream sold this Black Friday weekend.

Why PUR Projet?

PUR Projet are an organisation pioneering in the field of agroforesty, which they are delivering in the UK with the help of the Woodland Trust. Their two goals are, similarly to L’OCCITANE, preserving biodiversity, and restoring ecosystems through tree planting.

Since the early 20th century, 20% of the world’s forestry has been depleted, and deforestation contributes to around 20% of global CO2 emissions. Four mature trees absorb around one tonne of CO2 across their life time, which highlights the importance of the work of PUR Projet in their fight against climate change. Since their conception in 2008, PUR Projet have planted 18 million trees across 736 species; a significant contribution to the offsetting of CO2 emissions and encouragement of biodiversity worldwide.

L’OCCITANE X PUR Projet - A History

So far, our partnership with PUR Projet and the L'Occitane Foundation over the last three years has raised more than £133,000 to plant 12,216 trees in the UK.
