Why exfoliate the skin on your hands?

Over time, hands gradually accumulate dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. This build-up can form a rough, sometimes thickened layer that dulls the appearance of the skin and limits the effectiveness of moisturising care. Exfoliating the skin on the hands helps gently remove these impurities, smooth the skin texture and support cell renewal. This gesture also helps reduce the feeling of roughness on the hands, especially on the most exposed areas such as the palms or around the nails. By revealing skin that feels clearer and softer, a hand scrub helps preserve comfort and natural radiance, while preparing the skin to better absorb the nourishing care applied afterwards.

Why choose the L'Occitane en Provence hand scrub?

The L'Occitane en Provence hand scrub reflects the Maison’s cosmetic expertise, combining naturality, sensoriality and responsible commitment. Made in France, it is formulated with carefully selected naturally derived ingredients. Enriched with 10% fair-trade Shea butter, it helps nourish and protect the skin while respecting its balance. Shea butter, naturally rich in omega-6 and karitene, contains molecules recognised for their nourishing and protective properties. Combined with walnut shells, naturally derived exfoliants, our scrub exfoliates the hands effectively yet gently, for skin that feels smoother and more comfortable. Available in a compact 30 mL format, it is easy to take anywhere and fits seamlessly into daily life. New: L'Occitane en Provence’s iconic hand creams and scrubs now come in new packaging, designed to be more sustainable, with no compromise on the formulas, which remain unchanged.

When and how should you exfoliate your hands?

Used once or twice a week, a hand scrub helps keep the skin soft and smooth, while preparing it to receive moisturising care. It fits perfectly into a simple and sensory hand care ritual. The gesture begins with gentle cleansing using a hand soap to purify the skin. On dry skin, then apply a small amount of scrub between the hands and gently massage the palms, the backs of the hands, as well as the nails and cuticles, for around one minute. This massage helps remove dead skin cells and stimulate microcirculation. Rinse thoroughly with water, then dry the hands carefully. To prolong the benefits of exfoliation, apply a nourishing hand cream, such as the iconic Shea Hand Cream, for a 100% Shea ritual that helps restore comfort and suppleness. Finally, applying a cuticle care treatment completes this ritual, for hands, nails and cuticles that feel more cared for and harmonious.
