L'OCCITANE SUPPORTS KIK-PLASTIC

Here at L’Occitane, we are on a mission to reduce plastic pollution. We dream of a planet with clean oceans & lands and are proud of the steps we have taken so far to reduce plastic consumption – from our handy refill packs to our in-store recycling service for beauty products. But our journey does not stop there and we are excited to share with you our next expedition…

About The Collaboration

This year, we are teaming up with British adventurer, Kiko Matthews, who is taking plastic pollution into her own hands. Kiko is no stranger to the danger of waste destroying our oceans. In 2018, she set herself the challenge to solo row across the Atlantic (and became the female record holder in the process!). Distraught by the amount of plastic waste she saw as she travelled across the sea, she was determined to make a change. Now back on UK soil, she is ready to face her new challenge: Kik-Plastic.
From May 2019, Kiko will be cycling a ginormous 7,200KM journey around the UK coastline to raise awareness of plastic pollution, stopping off at local beaches on route to pick up plastic with local volunteers. We are thrilled to support her mission and will be helping her along the way and we invite you to join the challenge too!

Beach locations we are supporting

To help Kiko along the way, we will be stopping off at the following beaches to help her and the local volunteers ‘Kik-Plastic', we invite you to join us too!
We collected 63 kgs of waste in total so far!

A story of commitments

L'OCCITANE was born in 1976, when its founder, Olivier Baussan, began distilling essential oils and selling them in his much-loved land of Provence. Built on strong principles and true stories, the brand has grown (a lot!), but its philosophy has always remained the same. Nature matters. People matter. That is why L'OCCITANE has 6 clear commitments, focused on protecting our precious planet and treating people with respect.
